Dogs Day Out

  “Dogs Day Out” on Sunday 2 April at Swanbourne Park was a lovely day enjoyed by all. The event raises funds for the charity Medical Detection Dogs. I was delighted to be reading an Easter Story starring Ted and white Mischief, his Pony friend. The annual Event grows year by year and most visitors brought along their own dogs. The charity Medical Detection Dogs  trains dogs to detect the odour of human disease. It is at the forefront of the research into the fight against cancer and helping people with life-threatening diseases. Bio-Detection Dogs are trained to find the odour of diseases, such as cancer, in samples such as urine, breath and swabs. Medical Alert Assistance Dogs are trained to detect minute changes in an individual’s personal odour triggered by their disease and alert them to a serious impending medical event. For more...

Hot Cross Buns

Easter is only a couple of weeks away and I thought I would share a recipe for Hot Cross Buns   Ingredients 500g strong white bread flour ½ tsp salt 2 heaped tsp mixed spice 50g caster sugar 50g butter, chopped into cubes 200g mixed dried fruit 7g sachet easy-blend dried yeast 200ml milk 2 eggs For the crosses & glaze 3 tbsp plain flour honey or golden syrup, for brushing Method Put flour into a bowl and stir in the salt, mixed spice and sugar. Rub in the butter with your fingertips. Stir in the dried fruit, then sprinkle over the yeast and stir in. Gently warm the milk so it is hot, but still cool enough to put your finger in for a couple of seconds. Beat with the eggs, then pour into the dried ingredients.  Mix the...

  On Saturday 11th of March 2017 I was asked to commentate for Cricklands Pre Season Carriage Driving Event by James Broome the son of Olympic Show Jumper David Broome at there Equestrian Centre in Monmouthshire. The location is stunning with the most superb out door arena. The driving facilities were brilliant for all who took part.
