When I was called on Friday afternoon by the NFU Countryside magazine office, and told that a I had been voted the Countryside Champion of Champion of the UK, it truly reduced me to tear’s, It has been a life times journey, of dedication, passion, and total commitment to both my love of Horses and the British Countryside.
I hope that my role as Ambassador for the Rare Breeds Survival Trust, will get a new voice, to the plight and especially the New Forest Pony’s that are fighting for survival, as the breeding number of mares our so low.
My other empathy is with rural poverty, the small holder’s and country people who are born and bred to live in the Countryside, but are finding it a constant battle to remain in a rural home, and the only way of life they understand.
I hope that my small voice will be heard, to a larger audience, as quite simply I love the British Countryside, and the people and animals that live there.
This title I dedicate to Ted my Horse, who I named after my late Father who had a heart attack while driving his combine harvester in September 1978, the horse I named after my Dad, who died on the 2nd October 1978. He would have been so proud of his Sally.
